She’s not even sure what they are. He once told her about legacy, and that’s part of it, she thinks. But somewhere along the way, it stopped being about helping people and saving the world. That’s still important— it always will be. But now, they’re a family. Sure, he likes to act like her dad, her superior.. and on a certain level, he kind of… is? She’ll never see him like that, though. Not after all the times she’s been presented with his man-child tendencies. Fortunately, he’s more than the sum of his flaws— so much more. He can be a total pain in the ass (so can she, she’ll admit) but at the end of the day, he still cares about her. And that’s more than Kate ever expected.
Okay okay! I’ll go do some actual work now, gosh!
